Anyone else out there WAITING for God to do something?

During waiting seasons, it’s tempting to torment ourselves with questions we can’t answer: Why? Why me? How long? Instead, let’s focus on the questions we can answer, the answers we can choose: How will I wait? and Who will I become along the way?

Choosing how to wait and who to become starts with identifying Satan’s traps so we can avoid them. Perhaps these pitfalls will sound familiar:

Bitterness: I can’t believe this is happening to me.

Doubt: Does God love me? Does He even know I exist?

Manipulation: If God won’t fix my problems, then I will. My plan may not be godly, but. . .

When we go into spiritual battle, we need to know where we require special protection—which parts of our spiritual armor have vulnerabilities (Ephesians 6:10–20). Satan loves to exploit our weaknesses, but God can turn weakness into strength (Hebrews 11:34).

Let’s guard against the pitfalls and look to the future with hope. We may be sad and struggling now, but God can bring back joy in the end. He can bring back joy after we have doubted. He can bring back joy after we have made mistakes, even the kind with lasting consequences (Psalm 51:12).

Waiting seasons aren’t fun, but they provide opportunities. Through waiting, perseverance can gradually “finish” its never-ending work in us (James 1:2–4). As waiting does its thing, and God does His, we get the chance to become our best selves, the people God designed us to be.

This book….. I am so excited to have it.

I kept thinking about me saying on a post right before my surgery that I would share ways that I study the Bible with y’all the next week.

Y’all…. 😂😂😂 sorry for the delay. The surgery took a bit more recovery time than I had anticipated. 😳

So… here goes. I have used many methods to study Gods Word over the years.

I have pondered which ways have made the biggest difference in my walk with God. The main thing is, I have to spend time with Him every day! I say “have to” but I that’s not really the words to describe it. I WANT TO!
I have found I am the best version of myself when I spend time daily with God.
Isn’t that the key to any real relationship? You spend time with the ones you love.

As I was praying with what to share I got this book!!! I did this devotion last year on the Bible App. (If you don’t have that app it I suggest you get it!) I do a devotion (or several) on that app every day. One of the great things about the Bible App is you can look up any topic you are going through and there will be a devotion that is appropriate. It’s so easy and right at your fingertips.
I digress, so as I was looking for a Bible in a year app I ran across “The Bible Recap”. It was a devotion that had a video along with it. It opened my eyes up to so many things in the Bible that I had never understood.
I will share later why this was different and how it helped me.
In the meantime check it out! ❤️🙏

This is something I encourage my clients to take hold of. The last statement of this quote…. Perception is a key component to gratitude. And gratitude is a key component to joy!

This can take some practice if it doesn’t come natural to you. There are practical things you can do to develop this way of thinking.

1) Keep a gratitude journal! Write down at least one thing you are grateful for at the end of each day. Or maybe first thing in the morning! It really shifts your thinking when you posture your thinking toward being grateful.

2) Tell someone else that you are grateful for them and why! The Proverb says, Those who refresh others are themselves refreshed! I live by this Proverb. I am on purpose to express to at least one person either by text or in person that I am grateful for them being in my life!

When you focus on what you are thankful for and refresh someone else there is a shift that happens in your mindset. It takes your focus off of what you are going through and helps you see that everyone is struggling in some way, shape or form. And when you extend thankfulness to others it truly fills your heart with JOY!

Give it a try! ❤️
