When I was a kid hearing the phrase “they’re in a better place” upset me. How is there any better place than here with the people who love you? It felt like I had done something wrong. And as a result that person went to a better place to get away.

For “Here and Now,” the artists had to include in their submission what the phrase meant to them. And it was open for each of us to interpret. Some 50 plus years after hearing that phrase for the first time, I still feel that there is no better place than here with the people who love you. And I always, always, always, still wish they were here.

My painting, “I wish you were here” will be a part of the show “Here and Now,” that opens March 6th. Done in acrylics on 20 x 20 inch wrapped canvas. I hope to see everyone at the opening. grief loss artistlife
