HURRY AND GET ON BOARD! (See what I did there?) There are still slots left for the train photoshoot this Saturday, July 17!
Photo/Video Workshops announces the “On Track Photo Event!” No, were not photographing airplanes or cars this time, we’re photographing vintage trains at the Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco, Texas.
We’ll have the entire outside train yard at the museum to ourselves from 5-10pm on Saturday, September 17th. You’ll have the opportunity to roam and set up shots among the vintage train cars and engines. When the sun sets, we’ll light the famous Union Pacific Railroad 4-8-8-4 ‘Big Boy!” for a night image using a smoke machine to simulate steam. This engine is one of the surviving largest steam engines ever made.
If you want to light and shoot your own night images, you’ll be free to do so as well. If you have your own lighting, then bring it and set up your own shots! The evening is for you to practice your craft, expand your creativity, and have a fun time while doing so.
The cost for the ‘On Track Photo Event’ is $150.00 per person and limited to 20 slots.
Here is the agenda for the event. Everything listed is included.
• 3:00 pm:
Meet at the Museum of the American Railroad, www.historictrains.org
8004 North Dallas Parkway, Frisco
– We’ll have the opportunity to visit the TrainTopia Museum and the National Videogame Museum. Both are quite unique museums.
• 4:00 pm:
We’ll go to a nearby restaurant, the Rockin’ Taco, for an early dinner.
This will fuel us up for the evening shoot.
• 5:00-10:00 pm: Photography in the Train Yard
– 5:00-6:00 pm – Private Tour by museum staff
– 6:00-9:30 pm – Free time to photograph on your own
– 6:30 pm – Start setting up for night shoot
Sunset is 7:30p. Shoot until 10:00 pm.
