321 e-Learning is looking for parents and educators of students with Down syndrome who would be willing to participate in a short survey. We are interested in hearing all about your experiences supporting online, at-home, and remote instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are dedicated to creating and supporting a collective learning environment for the Down syndrome community. We aim to empower educators, parents, and researchers within the community by providing a mechanism through which community members can connect to build and retain a knowledge base surrounding the many aspects of eLearning for students with Down syndrome. Currently, we are working on an initiative to provide an online resource for parents and educators who are navigating the at-home or remote delivery of instructional materials to students with Down syndrome.

We appreciate your time and effort in assisting us as we gather data for this project. The input we receive from these surveys will shape the focus of our endeavor and play a vital role in ensuring that we are successful in creating a product that is both effective and useful. Thank you for joining us on our mission to provide learning solutions designed to engage, empower, and educate all members of the Down syndrome community.

This survey is for both parents and educators:

Inclusion like this must start in our local schools!

I am honored to share with you some wonderful news, and I am sure that it will make your day!

Word has come to me from Grace Davis’ high school teacher Jennifer Greer that Grace, who has Down syndrome and is attending the Eagles program at Auburn, has received a bid to a campus sorority!

Six young women with intellectual abilities took part in bid day this past weekend, and the Auburn Greek system, in a kind gesture of inclusion, asked the girls to be a part of the bid day process - and Grace is now a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII).

I am of course thrilled seeing the Vestavia Hills resident going to college (her parents were told upon Grace’s birth that their daughter would never contribute to society).

Today, Grace will have a chance to learn from her sorority sisters while her sisters will broaden their horizons and learn more about the great things that special needs children and adults can accomplish.

Please offer your congratulations to our friend Grace Davis and let her know how proud you are of her accomplishment.

I hope this piece of warms your heart and reminds you that there are certainly good things happening in our world. 😊
