Prayer has changed my relationship with God this year. 2022 has been a very difficult year but I have seen Gods faithfulness in the ways I have not before! Thank you Jesus! You are so faithful! You are so good to us! You are merciFULL!

This year I decided to join a prayer small group through my church. I was nervous to join because praying out loud in front of others, especially other believers always intimidates me. But I was going through a lot and craving the presence of Jesus and I thought to myself what better way to connect with Him than to strengthen my prayer life. So I joined the small group. It took place very early in the morning on Sunday before church and I didn’t enjoy getting up early haha but I was committed. This small group completely changed my view of prayer. Now I find myself praying about all things and for all circumstances - big and small. I have a deep and quicken spirit to pray for those around me and for what they are going through. My heart breaks open to see our world and those around me change and fall in love with Jesus.
Now I know why it’s so important to pray.

Around the same time that I was in the small group, I also went to a Christian Women in Media Conference and as we approached our seats there was a book sitting on each chair. it was called - Praying Women by Sheila Walsh. I don’t believe in coincidences but I do believe in God and I knew he was reminding me to continually pray.

Fast forward to Christmas season, I’m shopping in a local bookstore and I see a new Bible study by Daily Grace Co. available called PRAY. Of course, I bought one and a few more as gifts. Another reminder to pray.

My mom not knowing any of this, puts prayer request cards in my stocking from Dailey Grace Co. 💗 Another reminder to pray.

This year, God has shown me the importance of prayer, that it works, and that it’s necessary. It is truly our greatest weapon in this life.

Hope this encourages someone today that your prayers are needed and they are heard.

Perfection doesn’t change people, but His presence does. 🤍

A few thoughts this week: The greatest anchor to keeping people in church and in Christian communities is the building of relationships with one another. If someone feels disconnected with the members of the church then it makes it harder for people to want to remain in the church and to keep coming back. Without relationships, there is not much pulling them there and keeping them there.

It’s the same with our relationship with God. Going to church is not your main anchor to remain in Christ. Maybe you can think of a few friends that grew up in church but stepped away from God years later. If you don’t have an authentic and intimate relationship with God then you are missing your anchor. A relationship with God IS Christianity. Christianity is not only memorizing scripture or going to church on Sundays. Christianity is a personal and intimate relationship with Christ; inviting Him into every part of your life and living to bring him Glory because you love him and he loved you first.

It’s easy to think we know what Christianity is all about if we just go to church or read scripture. But until someone truly experiences a relationship with Christ then they have not experienced true Christianity. I think this is one of the most dangerous places that we can be in: To believe we know what we really do not know; To push God away based on the knowledge we have of Him without truly experiencing Him!

How can we experience Him? Seek Him. Call upon His name. Stay hungry for the Truth. Be open to an answer. He will show up! ❤️
