...so I got asked, "Do you need to shoot the photos to do a face/head swap in a painting?"
Not really.
You can use a decent camera phone & it'll still work.
In this case, with this painting...they sent me well-lit eye-level headshots with their heads facing in the same direction as the person they wanted to replace.
Done deal.
