The RED FLAG Image Company

Over the last few years, I've been doing a tremendous amount of consulting with the primary focus on reputation and crisis management on both a corporate and personal level.

Two years ago, I sensed a shift in the way SEO was affecting online searches as well as the overall direction of the way people use the Internet. It was more than obvious as Google themselves continue to change their algorithm and modify things to just work better. Their attempt at an internal social network was the most obvious admission to the true direction of the future of search. Social media quickly started outpacing the search engines in terms of the way people look for and respond to information.

The idea that a company or a person can find information about something that is current and relevant to the tune of 5 to 10 minutes ago as opposed to results from 5 to 10 years ago has become increasingly appealing, which has led to a lot of changes in the way people seek out businesses, products, services, opportunities, and a lot of information. It also led to new challenges businesses face in terms of protecting their brand and putting forth the identity THEY want people to see about their company, executives, products and services. People primarily use social media to share. They share thoughts about personal issues, thought about business issues, products, services, and experiences that have a direct and often a profound impact on the way small businesses operate.

Over the past couple of years, we've seen some companies produce tools to help small businesses monitor some of the things and even Google themselves has come out with an alert capability to be informed of mentions of your specific keywords.
