Thunder the Wonder Dog- Week Two

Seeley BICS, Lady Norma, & Pony spent lots of time napping in the bedroom with me. Seeley said that Norma made up a schedule so that I would have lots of company while I was in my safe corner. The boys said her LadyShip was not to be messed with when she stomps her foot. *whispers*I think they are a bit afraid of her. But they always very respectful*. Norma (Normy) makes me think of my own mom, Storm.
The kids helped me check out the rest of the house a little at a time. I tried to time it when mom was out or sitting down so I didn’t have to worry about her coming up to me. It didn’t always work. If I was in a room and momma was walking around, I would high tail it back to my safe place in the bedroom. Most of the time she didn’t talk to me. For some reason if she said my name that made me skitter away faster. Sometimes she completely ignored me. I liked those times the best. She would also spend a lot of time sitting on the floor loving Seeley, Normy, N Pony. When that happened, I would sneak back to the doorway and watch.
Around the end of the second week Seeley showed me his humungous Toy Corral that momma made for all the stuffies. I’d never seen so many. He said I could play with any I wanted, but I didn’t know how. One morning, he took me into the playroom while Momma was at the gym. He said pay attention, because he was going to teach me the fine art of stuffie playing. I curled up on the rug and paid very close attention.
He said you don’t just dive into the toy box and come up with any old stuffie. First, you have to inventory the whole toy box to make sure momma picked up all the ones from the day before. This is very important because momma may have missed one. If that happened, you could count on it being the one you neeeeded to play with first. ALL Hounds, Houndettes N Houndies know certain toys are funner on certain days. When you find the first one you want to play with, you take it out, growl at it a bit, then throw it in the air. Next you grab it up and do a couple laps around the house with it in your mouth. If the door to the yard is open, it’s greyt fun to treat the stuffie to yard zoomies while tossing it up in the air and grabbing it when you zoom by. When all the laps/zoomies are done, you drop your stuffie on the floor, pounce on it and commence making it squeak.
After carefully checking out all the stuffies, I selected a pink floppy bunny. I grabbed it by the ear and ran around the room. Pony and Normy started cheering, so I took off down the hall and back. The back door was open so I kept going. When I was done with yard zoomies, I came in the house, threwed him in the air N pounced. I’m getting really good at the squeaking part. Momma says she loves it when Seeley N I squeak our stuffies at da same time. Lady Norma just rolls her eyebols and goes back to sleep.
Seeley may have created a monster. I spend most of my days taking stuffies out of the box, squeaking them, then putting them in piles around the house. After everyone goes to sleep at night, I move around very quietly like he showed me and like magic, momma wakes up to a whole pile of stuffies on my bed. Sometimes I have so many I have to put them on Pony’s bed. She laughs and says that’s why I’m a sleepy head in the morning,
