Single Parents Empowered Inc - Dallas

Why the nonprofit Single Parents Empowered is important to me:
There was a time(over a decade ago) when i was freshly out the Army, divorced, didnt have family close by, a single mom and was working for the state. I made just enough to where i didnt qualify for government assistance and daycare took every last penny I had. There was a time where i had to pick between paying my rent or paying daycare or getting my car fixed.
There are hard working Single Parents out here that we as a community need to support because not only are we supporting the parents..... we are supporting the children as well. I am in a position to give back and help others not go through what I had to or worse. Thats exactly what I plan on doing.
Right now, I have a grant writer and we are working on funding, I've been reaching out to the City of Dallas - City Hall and I have been brainstorming fundraising ideas. As far as facebook, there are billions of people on here. If I have to individually message a few hundred thousand folks on facebook to get a $1 donation than thats what I am willing to do. This Single Parent transitional housing community is going to happen.
