I’ve been watching what’s happening in the sheriff’s race, and I want to share a thought not in support of any one candidate, but in support of the process.

I don’t agree with trying to remove someone from the ballot through lawsuits or technical maneuvers. If someone is qualified and willing to run, the voters should be the ones to decide.

I personally support a different candidate for sheriff, but that doesn’t mean I believe anyone deserves to be taken out of the race this way. Democracy works best when we let the people vote and accept the results

When I’m elected Sheriff, one of my biggest goals is to invest in our young people and strengthen the bond between law enforcement and our community.

I want to start programs that get our teens and young adults outdoors fishing, hunting, and learning about wildlife. We’ve got some incredibly talented deputies who are skilled in these areas, and I want to use their experience to teach our youth valuable lessons while keeping them active and engaged, especially during the summer months. These programs would be all volunteer-based and hands on a great way to pass on knowledge and keep our kids focused on something positive.

I also want to bring back the Junior Deputy Program, which helps teach responsibility, leadership, and respect. It gives kids a sense of pride and helps set them on the right path early in life.

Another goal is to start an Adopt-a-School Program, where our deputies, while on duty, take time out of their day to stop by and check in with their assigned schools. This helps build trust, shows our kids that law enforcement is here for them, and keeps our schools and communities safer.

It’s all about giving back, building relationships, and creating a stronger connection between our sheriff’s office and the people we serve. Together, we can make a real difference.

I’ve always wanted to be Sheriff not because of the title, and definitely not because of the money. It’s because I truly care about people and the well-being of Jefferson County.

If you know me, you know I’ve always been about helping others. Whether it’s lending a hand, offering advice, or just being there when someone needs me that’s who I am.

I love this county and the people in it. I’ve seen the good, the bad, and everything in between, and I believe we can always do better when we work together.

Being Sheriff isn’t about power it’s about service. It’s about protecting our families, earning trust, and doing what’s right, even when it’s hard.

Jefferson County is my home, and I want to make it a safer, stronger place for all of us. Thank you to everyone who’s believed in me, supported me, and shared kind words. It truly means the world.
