There's a free concert celebrating Texas legend T-Bone Walker, featuring powerhouse blues artists, scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 23, 2026, at Eloise Lundy Park in The Bottom neighborhood in Oak Cliff, Dallas.
The event, called "Blues in the Bottom: A 10th Street Homage to T-Bone Walker," will take place from 1:00-6:00 p.m. and include live blues music, a local vendor market, food trucks, and a community-created mural.

We’re looking for volunteers who want to do more than attend history - we want you to help tell it!
The African American Museum Dallas is recruiting docents for Mandela: The Official Exhibition, running June 13 through November 1, 2026. As a docent, you’ll guide visitors through the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela, lead tours, engage guests of all ages and serve as an ambassador for the museum.
Mark you calendar, free training sessions are scheduled for:
📅 Saturday, May 16 — 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
📅 Monday, May 18 — 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
📅 Thursday, May 21 — 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Training takes place at the AAMD located at3536 Grand Avenue in Fair Park and is led by Dr. Marvin Dulaney and Mr. Robert Edison.
High school students, college students and adults from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
