THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING ORGANIC!

The conversation around organic/pesticide-free matcha production has always been a passionate one.
Of course before the introduction of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers all tea was in fact organic.

With modern advancements and the introduction of new chimcals and synthetics, the limits of what was possible were able to be pushed in a new way.

conventionally grown “high-grade” or truly ceremonial/competition matcha relies heavily on synthetic fertilizers, directly influencing the flavor of the plant.
This practice disturbs the natural ecosystem within the soil.
Once you use synthetic fertilizer the bugs come quick. At this point the farmer has no choice but to directly spray the tea plants with chemical pesticides usually more than once per season.

Historically organic matcha was reserved for export and or lower grade. The focus was never on producing the absolute highest quality or most delicious product and to some extent remains the same.

The small but extremely talented network of organic farmers that we work with produce Japan’s best organic matcha.
This is one reason that we do not have a “cheap” matcha/tea.
The farmers who grow our offerings are extremely gifted and long-term minded for the health of our bodies and the only planet we are currently able to inhabit.

⚡️All of our matcha can be consumed on its own, possesses unique and vibrant fragrances, has a beautiful color all while being free of harmful chemicals.

🍵We are one of the few shops world-wide that exclusively handle organic Japanese tea. This fact alone shows just how rare organic high quality matcha is.

🍃The rhetoric that a product grown in Japan with pesticides is safer than a product grown with pesticides in the west is grossly false. Japanese pesticides carry the same risks.
A quick search of “neonicotinoid” will produce some insight into the seriousness of sysnthetic insecticides used in conventional tea farming…
Sure there are limits set by the Japanese government. Still there are export issues into countries such as the EU who have very strict pesticide residue guidelines.

We feel strongly that maximum synthetic pesticide use is zero❤️
