I HOPE I AM WRONG.
But the IRGC will not respond to threats. They are tougher than the Japanese who would have fought to the last man had it not been for the bomb. Because the IRGC believes that martyrs, dying for their faith, get 72 virgins in the afterlife. So go on and shoot me,,, And mocking their god was knock knock McFly foolish as many of our Arab allies highly regard Allah. Taking out all their infrastructure makes it a decades long rebuild for the vast majority of Iranians who are good people and want their country back, and have waited for decades. But to give it to them in pieces, with no economy, no power, oil fields wiped out makes a good recovery tough or impossible. Like the nice little signs in many shops of my youth warned, "Delightful to look at, wonderful to hold, but if you break it- we mark it SOLD!) Destroying billions or trillions of dollars worth of Iranian infrastructure the US taxpayer cannot afford to pick up the tab for. I have heard of no operation of supplying the good people of Iran with the tools they need to fight back.. I trust this is going on. But a complete and total destruction of all important infrastructure is not a winning strategy. BUT LIKE I SAID, I hope I am wrong. We have the technology to continue to take out leadership of the Islamic Republic, until no leadership is left. A better plan in my book.

The IRGC was officially established by Ruhollah Khomeini as a military branch in May 1979 in the aftermath of the Iranian Revolution. Whereas the Iranian Army (the Artesh) protects the country's sovereignty in a traditional capacity, the IRGC's constitutional mandate is to ensure the integrity of the Islamic Republic.
