When Jesus mentioned mercy as part of His “Happiness is…” characterization, he redefined how we see punitive justice in the face of an “eye for an eye” simply by saying, “If you show mercy, you are already happy.” And those who carry mercy as a part of their countenance will receive it.
Revolutionary indeed.
Jesus wasn’t just speaking in parables, He was pointing to Himself as the fulfillment of God’s promise (Jeremiah 33:15–16).
In times like these, when each day brings fear, anxiety, and uncertainty, we don’t lose heart… we pray. There is real power in your prayers. “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).
Don’t stop praying. Not just for yourself, but for others. Your prayers matter more than you know.
