Thinking about the day my son sits at another family’s table and tells them what it was like growing up in ours.

I hope he tells them about the love, the acceptance, the chaos, and the sarcasm. I hope he tells them his parents were a mess, but in the best way possible.

To the man que nunca me cortó las alas: Thank you for a decade of unconditional love and complete freedom to be myself. This past ten years has been a beautiful, emotional, and wonderfully wild ride. You are my best friend and the best husband I could have ever dreamed of. Te amo hasta la muerte. Here’s to a lifetime more. ❤️

As a proud Latina and the daughter of immigrants, this degree represents generations of hard work, sacrifice, and resilience. I am officially the first person in my family to graduate from college, and I know I will not be the last.

Everything I have accomplished is for my kids, to show them what is possible. With the love and support of my husband, my family, and most importantly, God, the hard work has paid off. It’s done, and I am officially a college graduate.

Please never forget that it is never too late to follow your dreams. Next up: my Master’s! 📚🙌
