Please be careful and protect yourself from being taken advantage of!

✅ Ask for proof of their license and insurance
📌 Not all fields require a license — but many do!
📌 Roofers, contractors, and many construction professionals must be licensed in Illinois.

— Search the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) database to confirm they are legit.

‼️ Red flags to watch for:
❌ No business card or official contact info
❌ Requests large deposits in cash only
❌ Shows up uninvited after a storm
❌ Says they’ll finish “whenever they can”

💡 Take your time, ask questions, and protect your home and your money.
