Derwin Brown Lodge #599, PHA

The brethren of DB599 were present for an inspirational and engaging St. John’s Day Celebration. There were several excellent presentations, including one from our own worshipful master, Bro. Antonio Kemp.

Freemasons celebrate two St. John’s Day feasts each year, one on June 24 in honor of St. John the Baptist and one on December 27 in honor of St. John the Evangelist. These days are considered two of the most important dates on the Masonic calendar and are often marked with celebratory dinners or other events.

St. John the Baptist is considered one of Freemasonry’s patron saints and has had a strong influence on the fraternity for generations. In the Masonic tradition, he is also recognized as the patron saint of the Medieval stonemasons of Europe. The Grand Lodge of England was officially formed on June 24, 1717, to celebrate the feast day of St. John the Baptist, making this day especially significant in Masonic history.

Derwin Brown Day 2026 was, simply, OUTSTANDING!!

A beautiful day filled with family, friends, fun,
PHAmily, and music. We did it in style, as we commemorated the late Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown’s birthday, and the impact he’s had in our community. We also took the opportunity to award two scholarships to two worthy Dekalb-area high school students pursuing higher education.

Many thanks to all who helped make it a special day! And a special thanks to the Brown Family for allowing us to assist with the occasion!
