Some of the greatest black athletes in the country gathered in Cleveland, to support brother Muhammad Ali, who had been stripped of his heavyweight title and faced charges for his refusal to serve in the Vietnam War.

On the eve of the infamous March on Washington, August 28, 1963, I encouraged the people to stay woke and gain strength through knowledge of self….
