Search for Roommates for CAAR 2013 We have received several messages from participants who are looking for roommates. A good place to arrange that might be the CAAR Facebook site (see the embedded link to the right) and/or the CAAR ...
This might be of interest to members of CAAR: A panel for the German Studies Association is still looking for one more paper about race/nationality in the German context:
Subject: CFP: GSA: 2013 Panel: Race, Gender and National Identity at Germany's Borders
Seeking a third panelist for a GSA 2013 panel provisionally titled "Race, gender and national identity at Germany's borders."
The panel will investigate how different German regimes mobilized ideas about gender, race, and nationality to create and police Germany's national borders. One paper considers Turkish-Germans and the Federal Republic's guest worker program. A second considers Africans and Afro-Germans during the Weimar Republic.
If you are interested, please get in touch. We'd be happy to send the abstracts.
