Towels can be dangerous for dogs in cold weather! 🥶
Using blankets in an unheated dog house can turn comfort into a hazard. Here’s why:
1. The Sponge Effect: Towels absorb moisture from the floor and the dog's breath. When it gets cold, that damp fabric freezes, putting your dog at risk.
2. The Thermal Heatsink: Wet blankets conduct heat away from your dog, leaving them on a chilly surface instead of keeping them warm.
3. Straw is Best: Use straw (not hay) for insulation! Straw traps air and repels moisture, allowing dogs to burrow and stay warm.
The Rule: If there’s no heater, skip the fabric and fill the shelter with straw for warmth and safety! 🐾
