Magic and Mayhem

01/04/2022

I know I've been absent lately, and I am so extremely sorry for that. The last 6 months of 2021 have been a very trying time for me health-wise and I've been dealing with a lot. It's super hard for me to post things like this because when I do, I feel guilty. I feel as though there are so many other people out there that are dealing with far greater issues and worries. But at the same time I can't ignore this mountain I feel like I've been stumbling on and making absolutely no headway up.
As most of you know I have an autoimmune disease that has changed my life completely over the last two years. Just when I thought I had a handle on it, I started having infection after infection, seeing multiple doctors with no answers in sight as of yet. For the last six months I've been on antibiotics with only 6 weeks of not taking them, and those weeks didn't happen at the same time. The month of December saw me on antibiotics the entire time and yesterday was my last dose. I am staying positive that hopefully the long dose kicked it all out finally and I can stay healthy for much longer this time.
While on the antibiotics, they completely destroyed all I had done to heal my arthritis symptoms and now of course, they are back, raging through my joints and causing constant aches and pains. I think I almost prefer that to not being able to function right and not really knowing what feeling well feels like anymore. I do plan to start the healing process all over again and while I want to stay positive, I am also hesitant to jump for joy and say it's all going to be better.
There is so much that I need to do, so much that has been put on the back burner, including writing. And that is so hard for me, because writing is my relief from everything. But when you don't feel well, sometimes it's hard to think straight. I just want to apologize to my readers and friends for not being present as much, and I promise to try my very best as I can. Thank you for sticking with me all this time, and thank you to my friends and family who have been here through it all with me. You keep me going, and I cannot tell you how much I love and appreciate you. Here's to 2022 and hoping for a healthier year!

I read a post the other day and it really resonated. It said: Feel the feeling, but don't become the emotion. Witness it. Allow it. Release it.
