Did you know Civic Center was the first National Historic Landmark in the City & County of Denver? In October 2012, then-Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar designated Civic Center the first NHL. Civic Center was deemed nationally significant for its City's Beautiful design. The "City Beautiful" movement aimed to elevate the human spirit by making communities aesthetically attractive by building parks, planting greenery, adding sidewalks, and paving streets. Civic Center's master plan is shaped by the movement. Learn more about Civic Center at www.civiccenterpark.org!
