The Colfax Marathon recap is HERE and we are still feeling all the feelings. 🙌

So many of our friends put in the miles, the early mornings, and the "why are we doing this again?" moments to train for this big day.

It was sweaty, beautiful, and so full of joy.

We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up whether you ran alongside us, cheered from the sidelines, or just sent good energy our way! This community makes everything better, and the turnout was better than we even imagined.

The full behind-the-scenes is in the reel, go watch it and relive the chaos with us! 😅

Colfax Marathon photo dump incoming! 🧡

Last month, our incredible community showed up in the biggest way by running (or walking!) cheering, and donating from home in support of Grapefruit Lab.

Together we surpassed our $5,000 fundraising goal! 🙌

This kind of community support is what makes our work not only possible, but enjoyable. Every dollar raised goes directly toward our mission of creating a more q***r and humane world through art.

🙏 From the bottom of our hearts - thank you, thank you, thank you.

🌈 Come celebrate Pride with us at the library this June.

Pity + Fear is an intimate, darkly comic one-woman tragedy that reimagines Greek mythology through a contemporary q***r lens, asking the questions:

What does it mean to be a human?

What are the stories we tell about ourselves?

How do those stories hold up?

Hi friends, it's Julie and Miriam 🍊

As a nonprofit, transparency matters to us - so we wanted to share exactly where your donations go.

Every dollar you give comes back to the people and work at the heart of this community. Here's what that looks like:

🎭 Paying our artists and collaborators (including childcare when needed)

🎨 Supplies, props, costumes, and the spaces that bring our productions to life

🏛️ Arts programming inside prisons, supplies like printed scripts, and food for our large family prison visitation events

⚙️ The behind-the-scenes operations that keep Grapefruit Lab running and invest in our broader community ecosystem

We've been doing this work for 17 years because of you. Your support fuels every part of it, and we are deeply grateful.

👉 If you are able to give, you can donate directly at www.grapefruitlab.com

Hi friends 👋 We want to share more about something that you may not know about.

Recipe 3.0 is a series of family visitation events that we bring inside prisons all across Colorado.

🧡 Together we share stories about food and family, write recipes together, and create space for deep connection in environments where that connection is so hard to come by.

These stories and recipes are collected and preserved as part of an ongoing community project, and the events are reaching dozens to hundreds of participants across the state.

Facilitating connection for families with their incarcerated loved ones is some of the most meaningful work we do, and it wouldn't be possible without your support.

👉 If this work moves you, we'd be so grateful for a donation at www.grapefruitlab.com to help bring these families together.

Congratulations Julie Rada on receiving the Creative Justice Award from the Incarcerated Artist's Alliance! 🙌

It is truly an honor for her to gain this recognition on behalf of the work for ACT Ensemble, our arts programming inside of Colorado prisons.

Julie has dedicated herself to this work for 13 years and counting, showing up every week, connecting with imprisoned people and their families, and bringing art into dark spaces.

The prison industrial complex can feel so hopeless and tiring, but as Julie says, focusing on the fact that life is precious is what keeps us going in the fight for justice.

🧡 It's an honor to collaborate with the IAA in supporting incarcerated artists, and we are so grateful for this recognition of what we're building together.

Thank you for your moving words Julie, and for all of the incredible work that you do. Congratulations!
