⚡️Outlining Your Nonfiction Book⚡️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s no secret that writing a book is a challenge. Sure, you may start off guns ablazing, but after churning out a couple chapters, you may feel like your manuscript is either a) all over the place or b) not what you originally intended.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don’t worry; there’s hope! There’s an outline/formula most successful nonfiction books follow, and it goes a little something like this:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️ Introduce a Problem: What problems, issues, or concerns do your readers have? Outline what their life is probably like in the current moment.
⚡️ Make the Problem Worse: Get as detailed as possible and really drive home why this way of living, thinking, or being is not in their best interest.
⚡️ Offer a Solution: Share a reasonable plan of action that can solve your readers’ problem.
⚡️ Show How the Solution Works: With either research or anecdotes, explain how your solution can be implemented and how it’ll solve their problem and produce amazing results.
⚡️ Conclude by Reiterating the Problem: Drive your point home by comparing their current problems to what they *could* have if they follow your advice.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And it’s as simple and as challenging as that.😂 Hopefully, this quick outline gives you a better idea of what you should include in your nonfiction book.

⚡️Fill Your Creative Cup⚡️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There comes a time in every writer’s journey where they feel creatively drained or where they may have temporarily lost their creative spark. If this happens to you, don’t panic and don’t beat yourself up; you could be in need of a creative pick-me-up!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are 3 ways you can fill your creative cup and come back to your manuscript refreshed and rejuvenated.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌱Take note of your other hobbies: If you can’t get enough of creative hobbies, like painting and story-building games, you could be overextending your creative well, leaving you uninspired when it comes time to write.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with creative hobbies; by all means, dive in, but if you’re having a tough time getting into the creative mode when you finally sit down to write, that may be the culprit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌱Get back to the basics: It’s never a bad idea to dive into expert writing advice or brush up on the basics. When your creativity is running too low to create, learn instead.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌱Take a break: Please, for the love of everything good and pure in this world, take a break from your manuscript if you need to. I’m talking a minimum of a couple weeks. Mental breaks are good for the soul!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Creating your best work often requires being your best creative self. Remember to refill your creative cup from time to time and watch it spill over into everything you do.

⚡️How to Write with More Passion⚡️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After months of tiresome writing, you’ve finally finished your draft only to realize it seems flat and dull instead of having that “oomph” that gets your readers’ attention.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I understand your concern, and it’s important to know that instilling more life an emotion into your nonfiction work is NOT impossible.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are a few tips on how to write a more emotionally charged book.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💓 Identify your emotional theme: What exactly do you want your readers to feel when they read your book? Happy? Inspired? Motivated? What stories/messages can you include to make them feel a certain way?
💓 Connect with yourself: If you’re writing a memoir, self-help book, or spiritual guide, it’s important to tap into the parts of yourself you try so hard to hide. Writing is about releasing; be open to letting go.
💓 Use powerful words: Don’t be afraid to use a thesaurus to discover new, more powerful words that convey your message better. Just be sure the words you choose make sense in context and don’t overdo it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Conveying emotion in nonfiction is tough, but it’s certainly possible. Take your time, be patient with yourself and your words, and let your message spill from your heart. You can always go back and make changes later.🌟

If you had no fear or reservations, what would you write about? Let me know in the comments!

⚡️Lazy Writing Prompt #4⚡️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“When people show you who they are, believe them.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As an emotionally sensitive being, I want to see the good in everyone. I want to believe that people can change with a bit of love and understanding💕, and while that can be true sometimes, it’s ultimately up to them to make that change. I’ve gotten so caught up in trying to “fix” people that I’ve damaged myself in the process, and at some point, I had to realize enough was enough. The only thing I can control in this life is myself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How about you? What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Let me know in the comments💫
