You're allowed to drink your water and just exist. You're allowed to let go of productivity in favor of nourishment and restoration.
There's so much beautiful work around restoring habitat, and we must remember that we are our best conduits when we fully and deeply embody something.
When we allow our own selves to restore, we organically become more connected with what restoration feels like, with what it means in mind, heart, and animal body. And that meaning encourages us to take inspired action for all beings to have the space and time necessary for restoration, renewal, and the realization of their whole selves.
So, what can you do today to offer yourself moments of restoration? Then, when your cup is more full, what can you do to offer it to another? Maybe it's a listening ear, a home cooked meal, words of encouragement, or a source of water for our wild neighbors!
Habitat loss and disconnectivity are some of the biggest challenges wildlife face. Less or fragmented ecosystems means that basic needs, such as water, food, and shelter, are less accessible. But, the good news is, we can do our part by offering microhabitat restoration. By maintaining clean water and food sources for our feathered and other wild friends, we can slowly yet poignantly rebuild habitat and connectivity.
Do you have a water source at your home? If so, what creatures do you often observe?
