The Des Moines Public Library Foundation advocates and raises funds for the Des Moines Public Library System: AViD, Summer Reading and programs for all ages.

We are proud to fund the 2026 Des Moines Public Library Summer Reading Challenge. From June 6 to August 1, kids and teens can participate in reading activities. This program alone serves 10,000 children citywide, inspiring young readers all summer long.
