Speaker Mike Johnson just admitted that Republicans plan to target Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security for cuts next year.
Medicare is health care for our seniors.

Medicaid helps children, families, people with disabilities, and nursing home residents get the care they need.

Social Security is a promise that Americans have paid into their entire working lives.

These are lifesaving programs — and now Republican leaders are openly talking about putting them on the chopping block.

I've spent my career fighting for South Texas families, seniors, veterans, and working people. And I will keep working to keep the vital programs that our communities depend on.

South Texans deserve leaders who solve problems, bring people together, and reflect the decency of our community, not candidates who traffic in hate, division, and dangerous rhetoric. The comments made by Maureen Galindo are deeply antisemitic, offensive, and completely unacceptable.

In South Texas, we respect people of all faiths and backgrounds. We may disagree politically, but we do not demonize entire groups of people or use language rooted in hatred and extremism. That is not leadership. That is not who we are.

The people of District 35 deserve serious representation focused on the issues that actually matter to working families: safer communities, stronger schools, better jobs, affordable healthcare, and economic opportunity. Instead of promoting outrage and conspiracy theories, our leaders should be working to unite people and move this country forward.

There must be no place in public office for antisemitism, political extremism, or rhetoric that dehumanizes others. Texans are better than this, and our politics should be too.

While I was in Carrizo Springs, I joined community leaders in Dimmit County to meet with residents and discuss the importance of bringing federal resources to support local priorities. Thank you to Jhonny Gloria, Juan Carmona, Carlos Ramos, and Alfredo Zamora for their leadership and for helping bring everyone together.
We had a productive conversation about strengthening public safety, healthcare, education, and infrastructure across the region, and ensuring communities like Carrizo Springs have access to the resources they need to grow and succeed.
While there, I had the honor of presenting a Congressional Recognition to Alfredo Zamora for his outstanding service and lasting contributions to South Texas. His dedication to expanding opportunities and supporting families across the region has made a meaningful impact.
I’ll continue working to make sure communities in South Texas are heard and supported at the federal level.

I’m honored to be endorsed by the United States Hispanic Business Council. Thank you for your continued support.

‼️BIG ENDORSEMENT DROPS FOR CUELLAR IN SOUTH TEXAS RACE‼️

Laredo, TX – The United States Hispanic Business Council (USHBC) has thrown its support behind Congressman Henry Cuellar as he seeks reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives, adding backing from a national group focused on business growth and economic policy.

The endorsement highlights Cuellar’s time in Congress, where he has built a reputation around bipartisan dealmaking and a focus on results-driven legislation. The organization pointed to his efforts in boosting regional economies, backing small business owners, and working across party lines on key issues impacting his district.

USHBC President and CEO Javier Palomarez emphasized Cuellar’s approach to governance, pointing to his focus on job creation and economic expansion during a time of continued political division at the federal level. The council framed his leadership as centered on outcomes rather than rhetoric.

The USHBC, which advocates for Hispanic-owned businesses nationwide, said it plans to continue working with Cuellar and other officials to push forward policies aimed at expanding opportunity and strengthening the business landscape.

Cuellar now heads into a reelection environment in South Texas where border policy, trade, and economic stability are expected to play a major role in shaping voter decisions.
