Thank you, Robert Martin, for bringing a Thanksgiving feast over to the law office yesterday! Robert has been a good friend and client's for many years and we appreciate him thinking of Shealy, Crum, and Pike this time of year! He brought roast chicken, homemade dressing, green beans, cranberries sauce, and rolls. And of course didn’t leave out the sweet tea. @ Shealy, Crum & Pike, P.C.

This Saturday, at 2:30 at Bryant-Denny Stadium, #3 Alabama will play the biggest game of the season against #2 LSU. It is the biggest game because it is the next game! Each game is one step closer to the ultimate quest of becoming National Champions.

The Alabama vs. LSU Rivalry has produced many Great Memories and this Week’s Game against LSU will be no different!

One such recent Memory was in 2011, when 2 Alabama and 1 LSU played at Bryant-Denny Stadium. LSU beat Alabama 9-6 in Overtime, but Alabama CRUSHED LSU in the National Championship game to win 21-0, in a shut out! Alabama was crowned the 2011 National Champions!

My Senior year, on November 10, 1979, Alabama played LSU in Death Valley at night! We were undefeated and ranked Number 1.

Rain, wind and fog flooded Death Valley the whole game!
Sheets and sheets of rain bore down on the grass field until nothing but a soggy, muddy, slippery mess remained.

Our defense was our saving grace, only allowing LSU’s offense to cross the 50 Yard Line two times the entire game! Through the storm, their tenacity, quickness and hard hitting held LSU Scoreless, while the Offense fought through the tough elements and the Tigers to get just enough points to win!

We all had been banged up against Mississippi State the week before, and I was playing with a deep sternum bruise. I remember on 1 pass to Tim Travis, there was so much fog, I could hardly see him down field! Thankfully, he caught the ball for a 1st down! Even though we were able to move the ball up and down the field against the Tigers, a penalty, fumble and other miscues stalled our drives. We missed 2 Field Goals early on, and at the half, it was 0-0.

In the 3rd Quarter we ran an Option and when I pitched the ball to Billy Jackson, an LSU cornerback hit me so hard it flipped me 360 degrees! Gasping for air and limping back to the huddle, Steve Whitman said, “You’re not leaving this Game!” and he called the next play! That’s just the kind of night it was! Alan McElroy’s Third Quarter, 27 Yard Field Goal was the only score of the game, and we all made it out alive! The Final Score was 3-0, and we were still Undefeated!
Time to get ready for the Next One
