Just wanted to thank all my clients for being flexible with me this week while I took some extra time off to spend time with my favorite shotgun rider before she gained her angel wings. Also for everyone checking on me and making sure I didn’t need anything. My clients truly are like family and I appreciate you all so much! 🩶

Bone chilling cold this weekend-winter is paying us a brief but brutal visit!
🧠I’m curious-what things are you doing for you or your horse be proactive or make thing easier/more efficient with the weather?
I’m personally keeping my routine as close to normal as possible! Change in weather plus change in routine/feed feels like a double whammy of upset to our already fragile horses.
My personal horse is out 24/7 with a small run in shed where he can get out of the wind. He’s gettting his normal-soaked hay pellets, triple crown senior gold, Vermont blend, and I will add just a little extra salt. I have 2 hay chix bags filled-one in out of the wind & weather and one out so he can choose where to go, along with plenty of loose hay scattered throughout his pen. His water is on the opposite side of his drylot to encourage movement with a heater in it. I have a blanket handy if needed-but his natural coat has been doing a great job all winter and has not been needed.
