Trailblazer Award - Transcend Education 06/01/2026

Rowan-Salisbury Schools Superintendent Dr. Kelly Withers was recently named the inaugural recipient of the Transcend Trailblazer Award, presented by a national nonprofit supporting extraordinary learning in schools. Congratulations to four North Carolina high school students for winning best actors and actresses as part of the DPAC Rising Star Awards for central North Carolina and the Blumey Awards for the greater Charlotte area.

Clinching best actor and actress for the DPAC Rising Star Awards are Gabriel Emery, Wake Forest High (Wake County Public School System) and Mollie Reeves, Cardinal Gibbon High, Raleigh.

Taking home best actor and actress for the Arts Center's Blumey awards are: Harold Garcia, North Lincoln High (Lincoln County Schools, NC) and Anna Jernigan, Carmel Christian High, Matthews.

The DPAC Rising Star and Blumey Awards celebrate outstanding achievement in high school musical theatre. The winners will now compete at the National High School Theatre Awards, also known as the Jimmy Awards, in New York City June 22.
