Customized coaching to help you do your impossible

06/03/2026

I said to someone recently, “you don’t actually have to like running in order to do it. You just have to like the way it makes you feel.”

I hated running. I’ve never thought of myself as a “good runner.” But running became a vehicle for me to challenge myself in ways I never had and never knew I was capable of. Running taught me lessons I didn’t know I needed to learn. Running became my gateway to triathlon. And that’s when I finally started to love running.

Running is bigger than me… than you… than us.
Running doesn’t care how fast you are.
It rewards consistency over perfection.
Courage over talent.
Strategy over ego.

It’s about learning that you’re capable of more than you thought.
It’s about keeping a promise to yourself when nobody’s watching.
It’s about finding out that confidence isn’t something you’re born with—it’s something you build, one run at a time.
It’s about discovering that progress comes from consistency, not perfection.
The miles don’t matter - it’s the person you become because of those miles that do.

So today, I’m celebrating every runner:
The beginner.
The comeback runner.
The marathoner.
The run-walker.
The “I only have 20 minutes” runner

Running has a way of teaching lessons that have very little to do with running.

What’s the biggest lesson running has taught you?

This is a hard-hitting 🏅Medal Monday 🏅right here.

🔥Nancy smashed her first triathlon. She was proudly the oldest competitor, and hit all of her goals which included
✅racing strong
✅finishing the race
✅not coming in last
And because she came to play, she finished first in her age group. A few months ago Nancy couldn’t swim 1 lap without stopping. On race day, she swam for 300 meters.

🔥Mike celebrated big with his first triathlon finish! Mike has been working so hard on his swim to become a triathlete because it’s the one thing that’s held him back from putting all three sports together. But it didn’t hold him back this weekend. He swam strong, crushed the bike, and owned the run. Can’t wait to see what else lies ahead.

🔥Andrea had a breakthrough performance with a 2nd PLACE FEMALE finish, and first place in her age group. There’s really not much more I need to say other than HOLY COW and CONGRATULATIONS.🎉

🔥Thanks for a great day for our team, Abington!

You can’t buy happiness. But you CAN buy confidence. And that’s why you hire a coach.

Enjoy this picture of me circa 2012 wearing coke bottle glasses at a flea market in Colombia. Everything about this picture makes me laugh. And while I do take triathlon and coaching seriously, I also don’t take myself too seriously. Life is for living.

DM if you’re training for Ironman and want to cross the finish line with CONFIDENCE.

I was texting with an athlete before her big race, and I joked to her that my messages had begun to sound a lot like the famous children’s book “Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site,” but for triathletes.

💡So I decided to write a poem with the spirit of that book, for triathletes going to bed before a big race day. To all my boy moms who have read this book to their children endlessly; this one’s just for you.💙
