Phoenix is an adult German Shepherd who was relinquished by her owner on **July 1** from Salton City and is now waiting at Imperial County Animal Control for a second chance.
Losing the only home she’s known has been incredibly stressful, and Phoenix is understandably overwhelmed by the shelter environment. She is not comfortable with unfamiliar people right away and has a history of biting, so she will need an experienced adopter or rescue who understands her breed and is committed to giving her the time, patience, structure, and training she needs to feel safe.
Dogs like Phoenix are often misunderstood. Behind her guarded behavior is a dog whose entire world has been turned upside down. She deserves the opportunity to decompress and build trust with someone willing to invest in her future.
Phoenix is not the right fit for every home, but we believe there is someone out there with the experience and compassion to help her succeed.

Negrete is a sweet 9-year-old Chihuahua, and her handsome 6-year-old Chihuahua companion has been by her side for years. These two are a bonded pair who have spent their whole lives together, so they’re looking for a loving home where they can stay together.
