Adventures in farming: day 3,142,475.
It's Scarlet's 1st birthday! She got extra pellets in her bucket this morning and p**ped the least out of any of the cloven-hoofed beasts.
The rest of the herd (minus Sorcha, who was in my hip pocket) hanging out on the sand pile enjoying an absolutely lovely 60 degree day. It took me almost 45 minutes to pick up all the p**p in the arena, and that was only 12 hours worth of "stuff". Does everyone else make a game out of how far they can fling crap from the rake into the p**p cart, lacrosse style? No? Just me? I hit a new personal best this morning.
Naughty chickens had a hidden nest going in one of the milk crates. 🫤 No worries to any of our egg customers; we're keeping these for ourselves. There may have been some stern coop chatter about a stew pot if they don't start using the very nice nesting boxes that Farmer Glenn made for them. Ahem.
Madi says hi tonight from the comfort of Glenn's lap. She wants you all to know that she p**ps tiny roses and is "practically perfect in every way". (Or so Glenn tells her daily.)

I'm missing my sweet girls today; the barn just isn't the same without those distinctive nickers. 💔

Our newest addition to the farm...
2024 Irish Dexter bull calf, born on March 1st. For now, his barn name is Shadow.

A nice selection of speckled Welsummer eggs surrounded by a ring of F2 and F3 Olive Eggers. I'm getting the urge to fire up the incubator!
