Peaceful Birth Method
Mother | Student Midwife | Childbirth Educator
✨I help families create peaceful birth experiences 🕊️
Continuous labor support is an evidence-based tool that significantly improves outcomes.
Major medical organizations acknowledge that continuous, one-on-one support during labor is one of the most effective ways to improve your birth experience.
Here are some benefits:
💖 A significant decrease in the risk of an unplanned cesarean.
💖 A decreased need for medical pain relief or epidurals.
💖 Shorter overall labor durations.
💖 A reduction in the risk of low Apgar scores for your baby.
💖 A significantly lower risk of reporting a negative birth experience.
But doulas do not replace birth education. You need both.
Think of it like running a marathon. Birth coaching prepares you for the marathon, and postpartum coaching catches you afterwards.
The doulas run alongside you during the marathon.
An ideal team would include a birth coach or educator, a doula, and lined up postpartum support.
My private coaching clients achieve birth outcomes 9x better than the national average.
You don't need generic advice, you need a strategy.

Informed consent is a living conversation.
Some providers choose to treat informed consent as an option.
When it should be the foundation for everything they do.
This approach to birth is fundamentally flawed and contributes to unnecessarily traumatic birth experiences.
We're viewing birth as a procedure rather than a normal physiologic event.
We're viewing care as boxes to check off on a chart rather than supporting a human being.
"I am going to check your cervix now."
"We are going to start the Pitocin."
"It is time to break your water."
That is not informed consent.
Informed consent can be intact in any model of care, in any birth setting.
💖 It is the difference between "I need to sweep your membranes" and "a sweep is an option today to encourage labor. Here are the risks and benefits. What would you like to do?"
💖 It is presenting the actual evidence, rather than rattling off worst-case scenarios just to manipulate a quick yes.
💖 It is pausing to let you think and discuss it with your partner.
💖 It is accepting a "no" with the exact same level of respect as a "yes," without coercion.
One of the best things we can do to have a positive birth experience is find a provider who practices with informed consent intact.
If you cannot find one of those providers, be sure to educate yourself.
Learn the risks, benefits, and alternatives to your options, and learn how to ask the right questions to be collaborative in your care.
This will help you feel empowered rather than feeling pressured into getting things you don't want or understand.
My private coaching clients achieve birth outcomes 9x better than the national average when it comes to avoiding cesareans, unwanted interventions, and tearing.
