✨Eugene Class Highlight: Bicycle Transportation (PPPM 4/538) taught by Professor Marc Schlossberg ✨

Students are partnering with City of Eugene Transportation to explore strategies that encourage more people to bike in Eugene more often. Through infrastructure redesign concepts, encouragement campaigns, and policy recommendations, students are developing ideas to support a more accessible, safer, and connected bicycling experience across the community.

🚲 Join us at the Farmers Market Pavilion on Wednesday, June 3, from 2-4 pm to view class posters and connect with students about their ideas to support the future of bicycle transportation in Eugene.

Join for a bike ride back in time with the Eugene Bike History Ride!
Friday, May 8th at 5:30pm
LTD Downtown Station, Rosa Parks Plaza

This ride will take us from the late 1800's into the modern age; highlighting some of the key historical points of Eugene's history from a bicycle perspective. Meet at the LTD Downtown station (Rosa Parks Plaza) and ride through downtown, to the river, onto the UO campus and into the Whitaker, all the while stopping to learn about Eugene's deep biking history.

The ride will end at a place with refreshments to continue the conversation about ways we can record and share this important history and how it can help carry us into an even better biking future for Eugene.

In recognition of Earth Day, the City of Eugene has released its 2025 Climate Action Plan 2.0 Annual Report. The annual report highlights efforts made across transportation, buildings, waste and resilience that help Eugene reduce emissions and adapt to a changing climate. Continued investments in our bike and pedestrian networks expands the opportunity for people to use sustainable transportation options. Promoting compact development improves walkability and reduces the need for a personal vehicle. Steady uptake of heat pumps is reducing energy use and costs for homes and businesses. Successful programs like residential compost collection and Fix-it Fairs reduce waste sent to the landfill. And as our urban forestry canopy expands, our community breathes cleaner air and has greater resilience to extreme heat.
