Dog CPR course

šŸ¾ā¤ļø REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! ā¤ļøšŸ¾

After everything that happened with our sweet Sammie, one thing became incredibly clear… every pet owner should know Pet CPR & First Aid.

We never expected to find ourselves in a situation where we had to perform CPR on one of our own dogs, and we hope none of you ever do. But if that day ever comes, having the knowledge to act in those first critical moments could make all the difference.

That’s why we’re so excited to partner with Oregon CPR to bring these hands-on, certified Pet CPR & First Aid classes to the Who Rescued Who Event Center at The LaundroMutt! Participants will learn lifesaving mouth-to-snout CPR, how to assess an emergency, and first aid skills for common pet emergencies.

🐶 Choose the class that works best for you:

ā¤ļø Thursday, August 6 – 6:00 PM
Register here:

ā¤ļø Sunday, August 23 – 2:00 PM
Register here:
https://orcpr.com/class/pet-cpr-and-first-aid-at-laundromutt-2/

šŸ’² Cost: $75 per person

Even better? $10 from every registration will be donated to a local animal nonprofit, and Oregon CPR is generously matching our donation with another $10. That means $20 from every attendee goes directly back to helping local animals in need! ā¤ļøšŸ¾ Since we’ll be offering multiple classes throughout the year, each class will benefit a different local rescue or nonprofit, helping spread the love throughout our community.

Whether you’re a pet owner, groomer, trainer, pet sitter, veterinary professional, rescue volunteer, or just someone who loves animals, this is a class we truly believe everyone should take.

šŸŽŸļø Space is limited, so grab your spot today!

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post, you never know whose pet it could help save someday. ā¤ļøšŸ¶

Ragatha aka Agatha
4 years, spayed female, 18 lbs
Chihuahua mix

LIKES: Being the center of attention, receiving pets and cuddles (is very interested in sleeping under the covers with you), napping in your lap, taking long walks with plenty of stops for sniffing, chasing after toys, running on the beach, chewing on rawhides or similar, sharing face kisses.

DISLIKES: Feeling left out, being ā€œabandonedā€, car rides, and getting wet.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: The best of Ragatha’s wonderful personality will shine through when she is in the presence of her caregiver, at home, and not surrounded by unfamiliar people or pets. At her foster home she is consistently silly, spunky, sweet, affectionate, and loyal. She is also very perceptive and eager to please, potentially lending well to positive-reinforcement training—she has learned ā€œsitā€ā€”but she will sometimes become too excited to register commands. Ragatha can acclimate to new people but needs slow introductions when people enter her home, and could use continued training and socialization outside of the home in situations with people.

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Ragatha is perfectly potty trained when you are around. If she is left alone, she becomes anxious and will have accidents.

CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Ragatha may sometimes voluntarily enter her crate when seeking a safe space, and she can also easily be picked up and placed inside her crate, but she doesn't like to be left in a crate.

OTHER: Ragatha’s size to high-jumping ratio parallels that of a cat’s, so while she is generally well-behaved towards your property, beware of the possibility for her to get onto tables or other high surfaces! Her compatibility cohabitating with children, other pets, or multiple ā€œequal valueā€ caretakers is unknown. Ragatha may benefit from being in a home with another dog that can show her the ropes. Or be with someone who is home most of the time and work on short times of separation.

To further inquire about RAGATHA, submit an application.

Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how RAGATHA will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.

Our process is NOT a ā€œfirst come, first servedā€ process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.

We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for RAGATHA, as well as her future family.

Kylian
2 years, neutered male, 16lbs
Shih Tzu mix

LIKES: People and cuddles, running around in the backyard exploring, playing with toys, being curious and being a part of the family.

DISLIKES: Being confined to a crate and visits to the groomer.
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Kylian a street smart dog that is fearless and curious. He’s an energetic and happy little guy who loves action and adventures. He follows the lead of his foster dog brother, and happily chases him for a couple laps around the yard. He’s cute as can be and loves to either curl up at the foot of the couch or hop up on your lap for some good cuddle time.

POTTY TRAINING: Work in progress. He still doesn’t ask to go outside but does his business when he’s taken out regularly. He was recently neutered and may need to wear belly bands for a bit to reduce marking behavior.

CRATE TRAINING: He doesn't love being crated and can be vocal and needs more positive reinforcement training to become comfortable having down time.

OTHER/MISC: Kylian was recently neutered and had surgery for his eyelid "cherry eyes." He’s recovering from those procedures and needs to wear a cone for another week.
He has not had experience with cats or kids at his foster home. Kylian is looking for a family that can help him learn his manners and would do well with an experienced owner that enjoys training.

To further inquire about KYLIAN, submit an application.
