Cedar
Cedar Skyscraper, majestic among
its neighbors,
sprouts life,
home to a multitude of tiny villages
Filled with hurrying insects, nestled in wooden crevices,
burrowing deep into this buried treasure.
The Cedar’s roots
draw long drafts of nutrients from the ground,
born in a timeless synergy
between earth and tree.
They speak to each other underground.
Messages hidden from the above world,
which is ignorant of what lies beneath.
Secret songs, mystery praises, musical dances of the branches.
