With light winds, mainly sunny skies, & NO blowing dust, tomorrow is definitely the pick day of the weekend, even if it'll be a bit cooler (esp. north). Much needed rain returns Sunday, & some t-storms will be possible as well in the SE. Some of those could be severe. That's with round one of rain on Sunday, which is followed by a bit of a lull for Monday. A few showers are still possible during the day, but the better bet of more rain returns Monday evening & continues into Tuesday. Once all set & done, ~1-2" of rain in total possible.

The thick dust and dirt "cloud" has reached Grand forks, reducing visibility down to about 1 mile so far. There's plenty more dust out to the west, so that dust will continue to gradually make it's way to the east into SE ND until the wind calms just a bit and settles the dust overnight.

We have another blustery day on tap for Friday, especially to the north. West winds gusting to 45 mph, isolated 50 mph will bring extreme fire danger & areas of blowing dust/reduced visibility (esp. in open country to the north). Much calmer conditions then Saturday.

What a difference 24 hours makes! From some rumbles of thunder and wind gusts up to 50-60 mph to blowing dust/brown outs in parts of open country and reduced air quality, we've got it all this evening. Strong winds and more blowing dust concerns continue tomorrow too.

We enjoyed a wonderful Wednesday w/out wind, but now, the wind is on the way back. The worst of the wind is tomorrow & Friday, & that is when the fire danger will be highest too, especially on Friday since there is at least a chance for some spotty showers tomorrow.

Even if you managed to hold onto your hat, today's winds were strong enough to blow dust around too. That's why the horizon has been looking a little hazy out there. Winds calm down tonight after sunset, and we'll enjoy sunshine, mild temps, and LIGHT winds tomorrow!

Windy week ahead (exception is Wednesday) so hold off on any burning this week: wildfire danger is high due to blustery winds and low relative humidity values this week. Chance of isolated T-showers this evening and a slightly better chance late in the day on Thursday.

Here come the showers. These will continue to push SE thru the early overnight, bringing most spots up to 0.10" of rain & some briefly gustier winds, perhaps up to 40-50mph locally. For MN anglers at 12am, these showers look most likely in south/central lakes country.
