š One of the most common areas for security incidents at multifamily properties isnāt the lobby or front entranceāitās the parking garage.
Over the past year, weāve seen everything from:
Ā· Trespassing and unauthorized access
Ā· Vehicle prowls and theft
Ā· People tailgating into secure areas
These situations rarely start as ābig incidents.ā They often begin with small gaps in visibility or unattended areas.
Simple steps to reduce risk:
1ļøā£ Visible security presence during evening/night hours
2ļøā£ Clear signage reminding residents and visitors about access policies
3ļøā£ Regular patrols and random checks to deter unauthorized activity
At Reign Protection, we work with apartment communities to proactively protect garages, common areas, and residents ā keeping issues from ever escalating.
Your residentsā safety is your responsibility. Making security visible is ours.

Here are some safety tips for your Halloween evening, a treat from us:
1. Plan a Safe Trick-or-Treating Route
Before the costumes come out, plan your route like a pro. Stick to familiar, well-lit neighborhoods and avoid streets with heavy traffic or poor lighting. Mapping a route in advance not only keeps kids safe but also ensures everyone maximizes the candy haul without wandering into risky areas.
2. Supervise Young Children
For little ghosts and goblins under 12, an adult chaperone is a must. Older kids? Make sure they go in groups and share their route with parents. Itās the perfect way to let them enjoy some independence while giving you peace of mind.
3. Make Costumes Safe
Costumes are the star of the night, but safety first! Choose flame-resistant fabrics, make sure outfits arenāt too long to prevent trips and falls, and avoid masks that limit vision or sharp props that could poke someone in the dark. A well-fitted, comfortable halloween costume keeps the focus on fun, not danger.
4. Add Visibility
Nighttime is prime trick-or-treating time, but darkness can hide little monsters from drivers. Use reflective tape, glow sticks, or flashlights to make everyone shine bright like a ghostly beacon. Visibility isnāt just a fashion statement, itās a lifesaver.
5. Practice Pedestrian Safety
Halloween isnāt the night to test jaywalking skills. Stick to sidewalks, use crosswalks, and teach kids to look both ways before crossing streets. Holding hands with younger children or pairing up older kids in small groups helps keep everyone out of the āboo!ā zone near traffic.
6. Check Treats Before Eating
Nothing says āHalloween horror storyā like an unexpected mishap with candy. Inspect treats before munching. Discard anything unwrapped, damaged, or suspicious. A little caution now keeps everyoneās sweet tooth happy and safe.
