Developing innovative solutions to help
organizations bring order out of the chaos of growth. His new book, BUILT FOR CHAOS, releases in April 2023.

Our church launched a Saturday night service to reach people who had never set foot in a church. It worked. Hundreds came. By every measure, wildly successful.
But then something predictable happened. Those people fell in love. Got married. Had kids. And the very people the service was designed for started wanting something completely different from what originally drew them in.
Success had changed the audience.
This is not just a church problem. It happens in every organization. The product that got you here starts serving a different customer than the one you built it for. The culture that attracted your best people starts feeling different as the team grows.
Growth does not just create opportunity. It creates new problems, often out of your best wins.
The leaders who navigate this well are the ones who stay honest about what is actually happening and adapt before the system breaks.
Have you ever watched a successful idea outlive its original purpose?

We have made love soft. We think it is an emotion. A feeling. Something that comes and goes depending on the day.
But the kind of love that actually holds organizations together has nothing to do with how you feel.
It is treating people right because of your own internal values. Because of your own relationship with what you believe is true. Not because they earned it. Not because the culture is good right now. Not because you are in a good mood.
That is not soft. That is one of the hardest things a leader can do.
The bonding force in every great team, every lasting organization, every relationship that survives pressure is this kind of love in action.
And it starts with you deciding who you are before you ever walk in the room.
What is the hardest part of leading people consistently regardless of how they treat you?

The strongest one on one conversations rarely start with a general question like what is going on. They usually start with real context already in hand. SeekFirst surfaces what matters most for each person on your team before the conversation begins, including their priorities, patterns, and recent progress, so your one on ones can go where they actually need to instead of picking up wherever the last email left off. Better preparation tends to lead to better conversations and a team that genuinely feels seen.
