A Major Step Toward an Integrated Allied Rare Earth Supply Chain
◆ ReElement Technologies has formed a joint venture with Posco International Corporation to develop integrated rare earth element and permanent magnet production in the United States.
◆ The $200 million joint venture is designed to support an end-to-end rare earth supply chain, from feedstock sourcing and high-purity separation and refining to metalization and permanent magnet manufacturing.
◆ For POSCO International, the partnership supports its strategy to expand its role in future-facing materials and strengthen supply chains serving automotive, industrial, energy and advanced technology markets.
◆ As Kye-In Lee, President and CEO of POSCO International, said in the announcement, “POSCO International's global supply chain capabilities and ReElement's innovative refining technology are highly complementary and bring out the best in each other.”
◆ For ReElement, this joint venture reinforces the growing need for scalable domestic and allied refining capacity for light and heavy rare earths and other essential critical minerals.
◆ As Mark Jensen, CEO of ReElement Technologies, noted in the announcement, “This is about building “a new model” that is modular, scalable and aligned with the needs of domestic and allied markets."

🔸Domestic rare earth and critical mineral refining capacity is not just a goal. It is being built.
🔸The midstream is where the rare earth and critical mineral supply chain is won or lost, and ReElement is building that capacity here at home.
🔸At ReElement’s Marion, Indiana facility, three of the company’s 10 kilns are moving closer to coming online this summer as part of the continued buildout of its domestic refining platform. This buildout reflects the next phase of ReElement’s modular and scalable refining platform, which uses chromatographic separation to produce ultra-pure critical mineral products and help unlock the midstream here at home.

Battery recycling is no longer just a waste management issue. It is already a critical mineral supply chain issue.
A new report highlighted by the International Energy Agency (IEA) shows that innovation in battery circularity is accelerating as countries look to strengthen critical mineral supply chains, improve energy security, and reduce reliance on primary mining. Read the article here - https://www.iea.org/news/battery-recycling-innovation-surging-as-countries-seek-to-strengthen-critical-mineral-supply-and-energy-security
That is the right conversation.
But for the United States, the next question is just as important: Where does this circular supply chain actually happen?
To create true domestic supply chain resilience, the U.S. needs more than recycling. It needs an integrated system that can:
✅ Identify and consolidate critical mineral feedstocks
✅ Recycle end-of-life batteries, magnets, and other materials
✅ Separate, purify, and refine those materials back into usable, high-purity products
✅ Return those materials into domestic and allied manufacturing supply chains
That is the direction we are building toward.
✅American Resources Corporation is focused on aggregating and developing critical mineral feedstock opportunities.
✅Electrified Materials Corporation is focused on recycling and processing end-of-life batteries, magnets and other materials.
✅ReElement Technologies is focused on refining and purifying critical minerals and rare earths through its chromatography-based platform.
Circularity only becomes strategically meaningful when materials can be brought back into productive use. For the U.S., that means building the capability to collect, recycle, refine, and reuse these materials here at home and with allied partners. A 2025 Market Growth Report reinforces the fact that lithium battery recycling is a "valuable endeavor."
The future of critical mineral supply chains will not be defined by one step in the process.
It will be defined by the ability to connect the full loop.

■ Mark LaVerghetta, ReElement Executive Director and Co-founder, sat down for an interview with SunCast Podcast and NICO JOHNSON while in Chapel Hill, N.C., for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Clean Tech Summit.
■ The central theme for their conversation - why refining, not mining, is the real bottleneck in clean energy. Known as an innovation hub itself, North Carolina was the perfect place to look into the future we are creating through innovation.
■ Tune in to learn why ReElement’s innovative refining platform represents a new model for the industry, how the company navigates a diverse landscape of feedstocks from multiple sources, and the impact of domestic refining on energy security and advanced technology industries.
