January 11 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, and all of January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
Human trafficking is not something that only happens somewhere else. It happens in cities, suburbs, and rural communities and is often hidden in plain sight. Awareness matters because prevention starts with recognizing the signs, refusing to look the other way, and knowing where to turn for help.
