Rodgers Brown did a phenomenal job designing the city’s first flag. He was formally recognized in our board meeting last night for his achievement .  Thank you to the staff at Northwest Rankin High School, Hartfield, and Jackson Prep for collaborating with the city on this project. Many thanks to Keri Davis and Pacesetter Gallery for sponsoring this effort and giving art supply money for art teacher at NWRHS, Mrs. Mandy Brownlee.

I’ve heard it said that our children are our hearts walking around outside of our bodies. I think that sums it up pretty well. For all the joy and pain, and highs and lows that motherhood brings, there is no greater calling than being allowed to raise the next generation. For every Mother, I wish you a blessed, relaxed day. Happy Mother’s Day!

Losses like the one South Mississippi experienced last night are unimaginable. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected, the first responders, and those working to rebuild.
