SATURDAY: the Forney Lions Grill & Splash Bash at First Methodist, 10 AM to 3 PM. $10 gets you a burger or hot dog meal plus the splash area, and the vendor market is free.

Good news for the taco lovers. 🌮

Taqueria Taxco is coming to Forney. The state sales tax permit for 140 Wildwood Blvd was issued this week, in the new strip near Peach Cobbler Factory. Think street tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas. No opening date announced yet, so consider this your heads up.

That Wildwood strip keeps filling in. We will post the day the doors open.

🤠 The biggest game in the world lands in our backyard this week, Forney.

One of the two World Cup semifinals is at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Tuesday, July 14, about 45 minutes up the road. Kickoff is around 2 PM our time.

Not headed to the stadium? It is still the perfect excuse to gather. Easy spots to catch it in town: Buffalo Wild Wings, Wings Over Forney, and Forney Brewing.

Happy Fourth, Forney! 🤠 America turns 250 today. Forney threw its big fireworks party early on June 27, so tonight is all about our neighbors. Terrell's Freedom Fest runs 6 to 10 PM in downtown Terrell with fireworks at dusk, free to all. Kaufman and Rockwall are celebrating today too. Full rundown is in yesterday's weekend post.
