◼️Recent Repair Projects✨
Thank you, as always, for the many repair inquiries and messages.😊🙏
Lately, I’ve also had more people consult with me during workshops and then move forward with a repair request on the spot.
I often get questions like:
✅ “Do you think this material can be repaired?”
✅ “It’s quite large—would you be able to come to my home?”
✅ “It was repaired a long time ago… is it possible to do Kintsugi from here?”
Many of the items I receive carry deep family memories, or are on the verge of being discarded. I feel that more and more people are choosing to transform them into one-of-a-kind Kintsugi art instead.

① Large Platter by an Artist
This was from a returning client.
Because of concerns about damage during shipping, I personally delivered it.
Seeing the joy on everyone’s faces at the studio when they received it was such a relief.
⸻
② Marble Countertop
Marble is actually a relatively soft stone.
While it’s visually beautiful, it’s also prone to chipping and cracking.
In this case, I repaired chips on a kitchen counter and bathroom surface over the course of two days.
⸻
③ Paper-Clay-Like Material
This was a consultation from someone who attended a workshop.
It was a very large plate-like object—almost like a sculptural interior piece.
The client, who works as an interior buyer, wanted to breathe new life into it, so I worked on it over two days.
A dedicated display space had already been prepared, and I’m excited to see it installed.
⸻
④ Pickup in Santa Barbara
This piece—a Chinese jar—was originally brought to a workshop in Santa Barbara last fall.
It had been repaired long ago with adhesive, and the client agreed to restore it without removing the previous repair.
There were gaps and uneven surfaces, but I carefully worked with urushi lacquer to soften and harmonize those differences.
I’m so glad I was able to deliver it, even just in time.
