Why you need to take polishing services seriously.

It can be challenging for many of us reputable professionals to explain to consumers who want to make their paint to look really good, that it is the high-level removal of what you might barely see that has the most significant enhancing effect.

Polishing often being various levels of paint correction, are words and phrases often used to describe detailing steps that many consumers believe are unecessary for their car. The irony is often those same people who have put wax on their car are doing an extremely minor and temporary version of the effect paint correction has. That wax might slightly fill in some of the microscopic marring for a couple of weeks, or that first drive, or even rain.

Before I (Mirror Reflections Auto Spa) became well known for ceramic coatings, polishing (even if just light) was ALWAYS a regular part of my most basic service. Even doing a light polish (not even correction) removed the oxidation that also made the paint more vibrant and allowed a PROPER BOND for even traditional paint sealants, not just ceramic coatings. Think about that!

When people wo are looked at as high-end due to pricing or explanation of steps (vs simple solution) talk about ceramic coating services, they may mention the importance of prep.

Prep is auto detailing! Not saying coating don't enhance what is ALREADY done. But for many people who had their car ceramic coated by a top-tier business, this is the first time in their life they experienced REAL AUTOMOTIVE DETAILING. A lot of bad experiences would have been prevented if consumers focused on detailing over the type if wax, kind of sealant, word 'ceramic', how many years, and etc.

Love Bugs

To Florida car people or anyone that cares about how their car looks, this message is for you.

Get them off your car sooner than later, but especially if your car is not ceramic coated (long term coating). BUT CERAMIC COATINGS ARE NOT A FORCEFIELD! Love Bug dead carcuses will eat through your coating or anything protecting your paint.

Sure I would much rather have a durable ceramic coating even over Paint Protection Film, due to the chemical resistance. But Love Bugs, due to the acidity will eat through ceramic coatings and your paint as well.

WITH THAT SAID THERE IS RARELY EVER A REASON TO GRIND ON OR BE ROUGH WASHING YOUR PAINT. With some patience (dwell time w/presoaking) along with a quality bug remover, you can clean your car without adding scratches and at least greatly reduce the accumulation of swirls in your paint.

Ask yourself if your car was a newborn baby, how would you care for it? That would solve problems. You can be (BOTH) proactive and gentle washing your car.
