To Our RecoveryChick Family, Supporters, Donors, Alumni, and Friends,

With full hearts and deep gratitude, we are sharing that RecoveryChick is closing its doors.

This ministry has always been about more than providing safe, accessible housing to women in recovery. It has been about hope, healing, second chances, and women discovering that their past does not define their future. We have witnessed lives rebuilt, families restored, faith renewed, and courage found in the hardest seasons. Being part of these stories has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

I know this news may come as a surprise, but this decision has come after months of prayer and deep consideration. One of the prayers I have carried from the beginning has been, “Lord, I pray for a ministry with fruit that remains,” and we have seen that prayer answered through lives that are forever changed.

When you read this, don’t be sad. Rejoice. Rejoice for the thousands of lives transformed over the past ten years because of this work. Rejoice for families restored. Rejoice for souls whose names will forever be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. I say this often: God never leaves a hole. I trust He will raise up another from the fruit of this ministry to carry the baton of RecoveryChick.

To every donor, church, volunteer, supporter, and friend, thank you. Your generosity and belief in this mission created lasting change. And to every woman who was part of RecoveryChick, you are the reason this existed. Your strength, honesty, and willingness to do the hard work will always inspire me.

One last word of encouragement to every RecoveryChick out there: When a dream changes, make sure you change with it. That’s exactly what I’m doing.

With love and gratitude,

Cynthia Corder

I will never forget those three words
that changed everything:
“𝑰 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒑.”

They weren’t a weakness.
They were the beginning of honesty.
The moment pride loosened its grip
and hope finally had room to breathe.
Sometimes healing doesn’t start with strength—
it starts with surrender.
And saying it out loud is the bravest step of all.

If you’re there right now, know this:
help doesn’t judge, and you don’t have to walk alone.

We truly appreciate all of your generous donations and your heart to support our home. To help us keep a safe and healthy environment for everyone, we kindly ask that all donated fabric items be heat-treated before being distributed.

Required Heat Treatment:
✔️ Dryer only
✔️ High heat for 1 hour and 45 minutes (105 minutes)
✔️ Items may go directly into the dryer, clean or unclean
❌ Washing alone is not sufficient

Heat effectively kills bedbugs and their eggs. For everyone’s safety, items that are not properly heat-treated will not be used.

Thank you so much for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support in helping us maintain a clean, safe, and bedbug-free home.

God will meet you right where you are —
not where you think you should be,
not when you’ve fixed everything,
not after you clean yourself up.
Right now. As you are.

You don’t have to earn His love.
You don’t have to qualify yourself.
Grace has already been given — all that’s left is to receive it.
Just open your heart.
Just accept Him.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬… 𝐈 𝐀𝐌 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐅.
Every battle I survived.
Every prayer He answered.
Every moment I should’ve given up but didn’t.
He met me where I’m at.
He made me qualified.

My life tells the story of His grace.
If you’re still standing, still believing, still trying — you’re proof too.

Take a moment today to thank God for how far He’s brought you. 🙏

“Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.” — Psalm 107:2

RecoveryChick exists to provide a safe, supportive, and empowering space for women in recovery on Galveston Island. Women who are rebuilding their lives after addiction need stability, dignity, community, and hope.

Women in recovery need more than a program.
They need a community that stays.
Consistency they can rely on.
Compassion that meets them where they are.

We’re praying for Monthly Angel Partners God may be stirring to help provide that steady foundation.

🙏 Take a moment to pray about how you might walk alongside this mission.

If your heart is stirring right now to help, please message us or call (409) 795-1269
