One year ago today βCylaβ was returned for being too much for her family.
Thankfully in early December I found her photo online at Garland Animal Shelter and our journey began shortly after!
I named her Lunaπ and sheβs the best friend I so desperately needed.
I've been gone for a couple of weeks. Life got heavy and I needed to step back. But Luna kept showing up every day doing what she does best, keeping me grounded when I needed it most.
Grateful for this girl. πΎ
She heard βReady, Set, Goβ and didn't waste a second. Luna on a mission. π¦΄πΎ
Luna turned two today. I sat next to her, rubbed her face, and told her happy birthday while she just let me do my thing.
Two years old and she has no idea how loved she is. ππΎ
One year ago today, this girl walked into a shelter as a stray with nothing but a chain leash and a black canvas collar. Today she's stretched out on her rug surrounded by rope toys, letting me scratch her ear and rest my hand on her paw like she's been here her whole life.
She had no idea what was coming. Neither did I. πΎ
She's got her toy, I've got her back. This is just what Friday night looks like for us. πΎπ
Monday Movie Night!
Finds her spot. Adjusts. Settles in. Not moving until the credits roll. πΎπ

April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day. π
Luna and I don't just hashtag this, it's part of who we are and why this page exists. Autism shapes the way I see the world, the way I connect with people, and honestly the reason a dog like Luna makes so much sense in my life. She doesn't judge. She doesn't overstimulate. She just shows up.
Awareness isn't enough anymore. We need acceptance. We need patience. We need people to stop treating neurodivergent minds like problems to fix.
If you're autistic, if you love someone who is, or if you've ever felt like your brain works differently than the world expects, then this page is for you.
Luna and I see you. Every single day. πΎπ
I was trying to have this posted earlier but was having trouble getting it on text.
