Fridays are for new, interesting, fun tastes, and this Bahnbrecker Slow River Blend Hefeweizen Whiskey out of New Braunfels, Texas ticks all the boxes… Per the label, it’s an aromatic blend of “straight wheat whiskeys lightly macerated with lemon peel and clove.” With heavy wheat notes, light legs, and virtually no alcohol-forwardness, this blend is a bit of a mystery, wrapped in an enigma… much like the joys of floating the river. You can’t quite put your finger on exactly why you enjoy it, but you do. Cheers to the Spirit of New Braunfels from your brothers straight north on I-35!

Saturdays are for iconic pairings. The STETSON Open Road in Stardust, paired with Andalusia Whiskey Co. Stryker Smoked Single Malt and Real Spirits Distilling Texas Whiskey (both out of Blanco) and a fresh hard copy of Texas Monthly… on a lovely(ish) Central Texas Saturday afternoon. In terms of small pleasures, there’s truthfully just not many better.
