If there's something on your credit report that doesn't belong there — federal law already gives you the tool to remove it.

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, credit bureaus must verify disputed items within 30 days. If they can't — the item must come off. The FTC studied 1,000 credit files and found that 98% contain at least one error.

Wrong balances. Paid accounts still showing as open. Debt re-aged past the 7-year window. Accounts that don't even belong to the right person.

You have the right to dispute every item that is inaccurate, outdated, or unverifiable. Most people never do because they assume the report is accurate. It often isn't.

Shawn Frye gave us a 5 star review on Google: "Been very happy with the professionalism, the knowledge and the guidance to help me to reach my goals. With out them it has been very frustrating to get any results I was shooting for."

Here's the credit mistake most people are making and don't realize it.

Credit utilization — the percentage of your available credit you're currently carrying as a balance — makes up 30% of your credit score.

You can be paying your bills on time every single month and still be losing points. If your card balance is above 30% of the credit limit, your score takes damage. Consistently. Even if you've never missed a payment.

Below 30% is the standard threshold. Below 10% is where the score actually starts to move in a meaningful way.
